Had coffee with Szekiat yesterday (hope you got your book signed), and one of the subjects we talked about was Curlews and how he would have liked to go and photograph them (if he hadn't left his gear in Singapore that is ).
At the moment they a quite prevalent of the Isle of Sheppey but not that easy to get close to....
This is just to rub it in really
All the best

Hi Phil. Lovely picture of one of my favourite birds. They should be back on my local moor next week

I never thought you were like that Phil, I used to think you were a nice bloke, Still great shot though
Really would like to get this bird to visit Chicago for a shot like this one.

Very nice and good not to see with the normal BG of a washed out sky.

The trouble with Tony is he's getting old! In fact, he's nearly as old as you!
Oh yes, the curlew.... nice capture!

bah phil, u are cruel!!! nice shot. I might just try and rent a 500mm for a week and see what i can net. That said, would be good if u could tell me which model of tripod u're using as per our discussion. I need that more than anything now i think.

Quality flight shot Phil. They are damn difficult to get close to at Sheppey. Best I have managed is a very contextual shot of one wading in a pond. There are good number there though. I'll be back!

He's a good friend really.... a very pleasant young man who is studying hard for the medical profession... he knew I was going to post this....
Its revenge too for it is his fault that I ache all over after a days shoot, for it was he who sold me the 400/2.8......
Another great shot well done.

Is that an echo?
