Brown Hare
I have been trying to photograph Red squirrels on and off for a couple of weeks but I am not having much success, so instead of the long drive north this morning I went to the site I have locally for brown hares. Activity is getting good at the moment lots of chasing and boxing. This guy took me by surprise and I had to carefully swing round to take the shot, I was lying on the ground with the camera supported on a beanbag.

Canon 1D MK 11, 500mm lens, F5,6 1/320, ISO 200

A stunning portrait and what an excellent close-up view.
Could perhaps use a slight curves adjustment to up the contrast a bit, this would finish it off perfectly.

Totally marvellous shot, Danny. I've been to my local farm a few times lately looking for these guys, but having been resident in reasonable numbers all winter they have disppeared. I reckon they must be performing on somebody else's land over the horizon. In short I am very jealous!

Nice one Danny. Like the low angle. Done very well to get such a frame-filler while being out in the open. :toast: :toast:
