Hello. Wanted to share this with you as soon as I got back. Just spent 3 days photographing hares - dawn til dusk - and it paid off. I've come home with a bag full of portraits, running, and chasing shots. But, best of all, was a series of boxing images and this mating sequence. I remember seeing Frederic's and being insanely jealous! Thrilled to bits with having finally been at the right place at the right. Its only taken 3 seasons!

an excellent shot, very nicely captured. It must have been a thrill to witness so much of their natural behaviour.

Is it just me or is the female looking slightly erm, shocked?

"Is it just me or is the female looking slightly erm, shocked?"

Maybe it's not actually a female, hence the bulging eyes! :D

Great shot Elliott - I'd love to get a shot like this!

She didn't have a lot of choice! He had hounded her across three fields and through hedges. I think it is more capitulation and survival of the fittest than attraction (his left eye in the picture is grey and opaque - maybe a parasite). She did give some of them a damn good hiding though

Hi Elliott,

You must be well and truelly chuffed with this one, and rightly so.
Top shot.
