After much delibtion I decied to get a mpe-65 macro lens, and a cheap mt-24ex flash on ebay.

Wow! a whole new world has opened up, what a great bit of kit.

I have only had it a week and was lucky to find this Queen Wasp sunning it's self in the garden.
roll on the summer.

a very nice image, it shows the jaws and face off very well. The low angle is effective.

I'm also about to buy the MPE-65 but will probably stick with my 580 EXII flashgun with brackets and a diffuser. When you say you found a cheap MT-24EX was this second hand or is there a particularly cheap supplier that I may have missed?
