Egret fly past
Still trying to get to grips with the flight shots a ratio of just 1:12 produces a working chance am I still below average?

Canon 350D handheld (as ever) ISO 400 sigma 50mm-500mm 500mm f/7.1 1/2000th sec.

RAW to lightroom 1.3 resized PS3 then sharpen

Critique and comments most welcome and appreciated

Hi Barry,

Only nit for me is the composition, needs more space to fly into on the right. O ther than that very well exposed and razor sharp.

That's nice, spectacular with the 50-500mm.

Great shot with the bigma. I have not managed to do that so far. I agree with Rob though, about the tight space on the right.

Cracking in-flight shot, as mentioned a little more space on the right would have been nice.

Hi Barry, a very nice flight-shot, super sharp! Apart from small nits covered I might go for a bit more saturation (I like those feets to be a bit more yellowish...).

Barry... a superb image, only nit has been mentioned and if you want to it is very easy to add canvas to the front of this image... your average for flight shots is better than mine, I really am useless and probably look at one useable image per 2gig card...

very nicely captured, only nit already mentioned. Well exposed too.

1:12 doesn't sound that bad to me, a lot depends on light levels, the speed of the bird, how far away it is etc.
