(More) Dream Lake
A month ago I asked y'all where I should take my Tokina 12-24mm for its maiden trip. The majority suggested Dream Lake, so that's where I headed. I arrived just before Tony L., who was lugging his LF camera and looking for ice close-ups. We both stayed quite a while until the Sun started illuminating the lake directly, then we hiked back out.

Sunrise was pretty much a bust (I had mine down at Bear Lake, having arrived a bit too late), and the wind blew constantly the whole time I was up there. Still, I managed to get off a few good shots, IMHO.

The rest are at my preview page for Dream Lake. Hope you enjoy!

Looks like you had a good time with your outing Les. Thats a cool series.

The ice shot inward is a really cool pattern.

I'd say you got a few good shots! I really like the image "WIndswept" and all your ice shots. Well done!

Thanks all for looking. There was obviously a lot of inspiration from others here on the forum who've been there before me - thanks. "Inward" was a unique pattern I found near one of the larger cracks on the lake, well away from where most of the good ice patterns were located.

Nice work Les. The blowing snow around the peaks is a nice effect and creates some nice atmosphere. I like the "Inward" shot too - very unique!!

Very nice collection, Les. The one above is really sweet with the fog/blowing snow, and "Inward" looks just plain cool. Good shooting.

Great set. I need to get up there. I love "Inward" too. It looks like a cell going though mitosis.
