Here is another topic suggested by a fellow RMNP member - Night Time. Let's see what great images we can come up with.

A busy night on the 16th Street Mall, downtown Denver. This is one of the first night shots I took with my 10D in 2004. Looking forward to some great "night moves"
Here's one of my favorite star trail shots...Agathla Peak south of Monument Valley.

Grant that shot is awesome! Perfect amount of light on that peak.
Guy - sweet shot too. The tree silhouette is very nice.

Singarpore's Boat Quay. This is a very vibrant area of Singapore in the evenings. On this trip I took only my monopod. In order to catch the movement of the water taxis, I braced the monopod to a railing to make this 8 second exposure.

The Eiffel Tower's intricate steelwork is revealed at night. On the hour, thousands of strobe fire randomly on the monument.

I took this shot from my hotel window in New York. I was very fortunate on this trip to have a corner room on a high floor. My wife and I enjoyed the views very much. In addition, the window could be cracked open just enough to fit the camera lens out. I don't remember exactly how I braced the camera, but the shot was very sharp. The building with GE on top is Rockefeller Center. The pink sign at the bottom is Radio City Music Hall and the green lit building in the background is the Empire State Building.
Very cool photos, everyone! I haven't been out in a long time, so here are some from about a year ago. Thanks to Cynthia Spence for the location on the first one. I thought the cloud looked neat, so it's overexposed for that reason.
I need to fix a couple of hot spots, but I've been too lazy.

Cool stuff so far!
San Diego Skyline from Coronado Island at low tide. It was very calm at 1:00am with a light fog which contributed to a nice glow. I enjoyed being out on the mudflat trying to capture some detail of the rocks and mud with the lights.

Nice image Kalin. I was out in that same spot this past Thanksgiving weekend. Looks like you caught an aircraft around the Marriott north tower. Getting as much as you can of the Wyndham at night (green hexagons) always enhances the shots from Coronado.
Wow! Some really cool pics in this thread. I absolutely love the star trail shots...and also the light painting ones. I really haven't done much night shooting since I moved to CO (something that'll have to get remedied). Here's a couple from back in MN. One of each of the Twin Cities.
Great stuff everybody. OK since it seems that this thread has morphed outside of nature and outside our area I thought I would add this one I title "I left my heart in San Francisco".
Really like those star trails from Guy and Grant, not to mention a host of city stuff which I haven't had much access to.

Well, I'm back from China yet again and perhaps for a while as I have left my job! Just to show that I do have at least one night nature shot in my collection, here are Zion's Mountain of the Sun, Mount Spry, and East Temple in the last afterglow of a lovely September day in 1991.

Sweet lightning shot, Todd! Great night cityscapes too, everyone! Since that's my most common subject of late, here are a few new ones for you to peruse. First, a bridge and riverfront in downtown Ningbo, China. I was thrilled that this turned out, as it is a reshoot of an exposure I had made with a p&s digicam several months ago. The digicam shot turned out better than I had any reason to expect, but nothing satisfies like a big piece of film, IMO! 120 Portra NC400, 65mm F8 Super Angulon on a Century Graphic, 8sec@f16
And second, the frame immediately preceeding the bridge shot: an alleyway in Tianyi Square, Ningbo. Both shots taken on Feb 21 of this year. 120 Portra NC400, 127mm F4.7 Polaroid (Rodenstock) Ysarex on a Century Graphic, 15sec@f22
Well i just posted this at M&N, but since it meets this theme, here's a repost! Sand Dunes mon night, me looking at a piece of wood just off the dunes lot that i dubbed 'The Kiss' due to its ressemblence to sculpture of same name. Man it was cold!

Nice one Stan. I like how you even caught the city lights in the distance.
I took this one at a local carnival a couple of summers ago. I took one shot while the wheel was stationary and another as it slowly revolved. This was the result after combining them.

Here's one from a spectacular night spent camping in the Boulderfield on Longs Peak. Full moon rising, and about 20 minutes of exposure.

Scott - that shot is sweet!
Ramona - it's great to see something (and someone!) from Arizona; super shot!
I'm confused about the Eiffel tower shots, though - did the French really copy the Las Vegas icon?? How tacky....
I call this one simply....... "Pants"
First, downtown Minneapolis...
