hope this is alright to ask, i'm going to shetland this summer and will be driving up from and back to London at my leisure from Aberdeen one way and Thurso the other. Only ever been to scotland once before when i was five so have absolutely no clues as to where to go. Basically wondering if anyone has any locations i should head too.

Not sure if this is alright to ask so feel free to delete this MODS

I think the Q should be fine, Jack, though i think many replied will be by email
At the end of the day this is a forum so should be used for questions like this as well as critique.

No idea sorry only been to the land of deep fried haggis once.

Jack - what are you looking for? I'm not clear about your route from what you say. If you have time on the way up, there are plenty of options. Happy to suggest a few. Email me if you wish.

Hi Jack

I live on the north east coast of scotland and can help you with anything in the area - Cairngorms, Aberdeenshire, Moray coast, Black Isle. The timing of your travels will dictate somewhat the species you can expect to see but our resident wildlife populations are quite impressive. Email me or contact via my website for more info.

Jack,

I would definately 'pencil in' the Isle of May 'hot spot' as a possible stop off area, on route to Aberdeen from London.

Plenty of local wildlife around the Fife area, although they may require more time than you have available on your trip.
