OK, this is water rocks n moss. I complain about seeing em all the time, but it doesnt mean I dont love to explore up streams. I was wandering up the highway along the N Umpqua on Sat and came upon this prominant stream feeding into the river so I parked the car and up the hill I went.
I came upon this veilish waterfall which was fed by two waterfalls just above it as you can see part of em. I'm not saying this is a great image, but this little area was nice. This was shot at 10mm, so it was pretty much in my face and splashing the lens. It was one of those shots where the tripod was precariously balanced on a log 5 feet above the water in front of me and 10 feet above the creek behind... then your standing there bent over at 90 degrees or more trying to look through the viewfinder. Theres not a real good vantage point of these that I could see, but I'll return at a later date and explore up there more.
I dont know if these have a name, I've looked around a bit for them, but it's about halfway between the Bogus Creek Campground and Fall Creek Falls...and 100 yards off the road...but not viewable from there.
Toketee Falls was closed to the public, and there's still some good snow all over the ground up there anyway.

Rick, the Nik Foliage Enhancer does a nice job on the greens. The top half of the image I like. I am not sure on the bottom water portion though, just feel like there is a little too much white for my overall liking.
I have this weird feeling I know this spot, but I've never stopped anywhere in that area other than Falls Creek Falls itself. Based on the topos I'm guessing this is probably Rasberry Creek (not a typo, thats how its spelled on the maps). I like the shape of the falls, gonna have to watch for that one next time I'm passing through.
It's right after a bridge as your heading up to Diamond Lake and you pretty close to Eagle Rock I think...
I searched your website but couldn't find it unfortunately...
Rick,
I'll have to have you show me how that program works. Sounds like it could be good for us green moss gorge shooters.

You guys sure have the awesome water features on your side of the mountains. That's not to say we don't have some, but I gotta start looking!
Rick, the image looks good to me; nice choice of shutter speed. The Foliage Enhancer does a good job, but can you explain to me how it's doing anything different from the color control tools in PS?

Quite a powerful falls, Rick - will be looking forward to hitting this area with you.

Wow, that's a lot of H2o! The nik software makes a big difference. I like how the water fans out as well.!

The greens are a little more saturated and sharper with the Nik software, but it doesn't seem like it's anything you couldn't get with curves and USM... or am I missing something on this crappy work monitor?

I like the color in the first shot....more natural......
True, I probably could have done the saturation further in PS...this effect was an afterthought actually. That program does more for portraits than for landscapes.
Rick...well, I wouldnt say I was risking life n limb for this. I was kind of flogging myself for being more stupid/scared than anything. I'm not afraid of heights if I have something to solid to hold onto...but in this case, I didn't and I was moving as slow as a slug... But it is addicting to attempt to get that odd angle...ya know, the money shot...

The differences in sharpening are quite subtle and hard to discern in this JPEG. I DO like the fan of flowing water and hint of more up above!!
Rick I'm glad yer still with us after risking life n limb for this!!
