Utah over Presidents' Day
February was productive for me - at least compared to some years... Presidents' Day saw me out and about in Utah. I already posted the Bryce By Starlight image, but I put together a few more from the trip to share.

My one goal of the trip was to scout out Pectol's Pyramid in Capitol Reef NP, so there are a few pictures - including this one - of that distinctive Navajo Sandstone landmark. Lighting on the Pyramid is challenging at this time of year; the shadows on the Pyramid itself become harsh well before sundown, so you have to take your best shot while the Sun is still a bit up in the sky.

The full gallery is up for preview. Thanks for looking, rating, and any comments you might have.

Great selection of images on your site Les. I think the star one is my favourite, then these ones with the weathered boulders!. I really like all mthe textures and shapes in this posted image, looks like you had a great trip!.

This would be a great candidate for B&W with all those harsh contrasts and bright light. The composition is working well for me.

Nice comp Les! I agree with Marc; this is definitely a B&W candidate! The textures and shadows really work for me. Just be sure and hold those wispy clouds. NIce collection too!

Really like this shot. Really like the texture in the rocks and the barren feel to the image.
