It looks like just about everywhere else got more snow, but in the upper Buffalo area we only have 1/2" or so of snow on the ground early this morning. I heard 13" nw of Russellville, 8" elsewhere in the Ouachitas, and 4" in the northwest. Lucky dogs. Anyone else have a report?

THURSDAY MARCH 6TH UPDATE: Looks like we are going to have some great stuff today and tonight moving in - 2-3" in the upper Buffalo area since noon already (it is 2:30pm now). YIPPIE!

About three inches here at home, a lot more in Springfield.

We are at about an inch near Bryant. Still snowing pretty good. 7:00am

Tracy reports 13 inches in the yard in Russellville.....while it is bone dry for me here in Chicago....something is messed up with that!

Probably about 0.5-1.0 inches in my neighborhood in west Little Rock. It was quite spectacular to watch it coming down between 7-8am.

We were told to expect 2-4 inches overnight in Columbia. By 10am it was full sunshine and no snow at all.

Well it looks like most of the Arkansas Ozarks got only an inch or less - we ended with less than 1/2" here in the upper Buffalo. I spent much of the morning in the southern end of the Ozarks and found the same deal - not much snow. I did measure the snow on the roof of a guy who was at one of the waterfalls I was going to (gosh darn it, every waterfall I went to today had other people there - who is telling everyone about these? Must be someone writing guidebooks - curse them!). He lived in Dover and had a full 8" of snow on his roof. He said they did indeed get 13" in Russellville, a fact confirmed by Larry Roberts who is from there. Too bad the storm did not track farther north! All the snow is gone now but the waterfalls are running great - of course with bright sunshine they aren't much use as photo subjects but I'm glad to see them running...

Interesting path the snow took this time. The deepest essentially followed I-44 in Missouri with St. Louis getting 9 inches and counting. Southern Illinois got a bit of snow and ice but nothing to slow down traffic. East of Jefferson City, MO, a skiff of snow, being on the west edge of the path. West of Jefferson City, MO, no snow and sunny all day with a high in the 40s. Whoda thunk it?

What, I thought you still had your feet in the sand with all the big shots at NANPA? And you came home to this! You need to get a different travel agent...

Ha, I drove ahead of the storm because the predictions were big. I managed to encounter big rains yesterday ahead of the snow. Better safe than sorry...

It was too hot in Florida anyway, what with the daffodils, magnolias and redbuds in flower, that ain't just right.

Speaking of flowers, I need some by next weekend - do you think you'll be able to get them to pop up by the 14th, pretty please?

Daffodils, Redbuds and Sarvis are all blooming down here already. Not sure how the snow will effect them.

Tim, I made a quick trip to Mt. Magazine this morning and there was 6-8 inches of snow in places. I took a few shots but it was pretty socked in early this morning. I did get to put the Land Cruiser in 4 wheel drive and cut a few new paths on one of the paved loops. No snow plows up there!

They are making amazing replicas with plastic these days...

At 2pm Thursday we have already received about 2-3" of snow here at the cabin since noon. It is coming down pretty good, but it is very fine snow. The heavy stuff is supposed to hit tonight - I hope!

5pm and I just came back from a quick run to the other end of the mountain - about 8" and BLOWING snow there, about five inches here at the cabin. I tried to take a few photos but that blowing snow was a killer - will have to wait until tomorrow. Bring it on!

Friday morning update. We ended up with a foot of snow here at the cabin, less in other areas in the local area. My kid is stranded at a friend's house over on Mt. Sherman and they have less snow. I want to stay here and work at the cabin like a good boy buy my wife insists that I get OUTSIDE and work so I guess I am headed out. I have a feeling this snow is going to hang around for a while, at least through tomorrow, so lots of you folks should be able to get some great images. Be careful driving...

Sounds like a good Saturday to drive to Arkansas!
