Hello all,
I'm looking to set up a data (image) server in my apartment, and was curious to see if anyone else out there was doing the same. I'm looking to get a G4 tower, and install as many drives as possible, potentially raiding 2 sets. My bother in law said he could set it up for me, and my main connection to the server would be ethernet. Has anyone run this setup before? If so, would you have recommendations for a G4 processor speed not to go below? Or am I full of delusions and should just buy more external hard drives? Thanks!!!

I'm curious why you'd want to go with a G4 rather than a cheap old Windows/Intel machine in a large case, with hardware RAID etc which will probably be a lot more "bang for the buck".

Hey Guy,
The only reason is that we've had a hard time accessing PC's on our network at the studio. We have 3 Macs and one PC, and even after re-configuring the network several times they can't communicate. I'd love to get more bang out of this, and if you have any suggestions, I'm all ears. Thanks!!!
