Hi,

Went down to Dungeness RSPB on Sunday, just to remind myself really why it is my least favourite reserve....

All I came back with was this Dunnock and a few Geese

Very pleased with this though, caught at the height of singing.

All the best

Phil

Dungenowt! I've always found that to be unproductive photographically too...
But this Dunnock is a sweet shot, I think I'd be tempted to tickle that intruding veg on the right with the clone brush though, However the bird, perch and pose is perfect.

more proof that you can get great shots with common birds. I agree with Nigel re the leaves on the right.

Gorgeous shot of this beautiful little bird!
Not too sure on the chosen composition (might want to place the bird a little higher in the frame and a bit more to the left, or opt for a vertical crop)
well done on getting him singing like this!

Greetings,

Perfect! I would leave the veg there as it give me the impression he is calling to a mate there. I particularly like the detail in the ruffled breast.

I'd definitely leave it as it is. A lovely shot, lovely muted background and great pose: I've never even seen a Dunnock singing like that let alone captured it on film (of course, that should now be 'sensor').
Nice one.

Really nice shot, Phil. Love the deep colours. Crop of the distracting blurred leaves on the RHS and you have a cracker. I have only been to The Dung once... it was enough.

Hi Phil

Love it - not an easy species to get a good shot of!

Hi Phil,

Never easy to get a clear view of a Dunnock, but one in full song is a real bonus.
