Chilean Flamingo (c) (Phoenicopterus chilensis), Slimbridge
I was at Slimbridge with a friend over the weekend and thought I'd use the captive birds to practice some ideas on. This is a Chilean Flamingo that I caught in the middle of its ablutions . I didn't want to get the normal 'flamingo standing on one leg' image. Does this pose work? Comments are, as always, welcome. The technical details are:
- Camera: Canon EOS 1D Mk IIN
- Lens: Canon 500mm f4 IS + 1.4x
- Aperture: f6.3 -2/3
- Shutter Speed: 1/1600s
- ISO: 400
- Metering: Evaluative
- Exposure Control: Aperture Priority
- Camera Support: Gitzo 1325 + Wimberley Gimbal
- RAW Conversion: Capture One
- Post Processing: Levels, Curves, USM (FocalBlade)
- Crop: As Shot
Many thanks for looking

Very nice capture and well exposed.
I would crop this one to a PANO and get rid of the large OOF part wich is drawing too much attention.

Now the repost is nice - how much more extreme can you get!
