My workflow at present incorporates the use of Extensis Portfolio, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop CS! Both Extensis Portfolio and Adobe Lightroom are bang up to date but Adobe Photoshop is not! Therefore I’m looking to upgrade to a more recent package!

But it is a decision between Photoshop CS3 & Elements 6! The price obviously plays a part in the decision making process. I am not one for really playing round with my images (even though I am tinkering more and more).

Which would be best long term!

Many thanks,

I have both Lightroom and CS3 and feel they are very very similar, Lightroom better for catologing etc, Elements maybe a better bet if you do most processing in Lightroom and then just sharpen etc in PS

CS3 or 2 - either would work for me, but I do use CS3.

Lightroom - spawn of Satan - Bibble Pro for me :toast: :toast:

How on earth do you cope with Extensis - what a resource-hungry programme that is Paul, you running a liquid-cooled Cray or something

Lightroom and CS2 works for me as well.

I'm more than happy with C1 Pro 4 and Photoshop CS 1... I see some HDR stuff in CS3 which is nice, but i can do much of that in CS and C1 with its highlight/shadow and some PS actions i have.

Hi Andy,

No not really. On the desktop no problems at all and on the laptop it’s a little slower. I’ve listed the basics of my two machines below (I built the Desktop myself to optimise performance! – the laptop is a Dell);

Desktop

Processor: Intel Xeon X5460 (3.16GHz, 1333MHz, 2 x 6MB Cache, Quad Core
Memory: 16GB DDR 667 Quad Channel FBD Memory
Graphics Card: DUAL 768MB PCIe x16 nVidia Quadro FX4600 (HEGA15), Dual Monitor DVI or VGA Graphics Card

Laptop

Processor: Intel® Core™2 Duo T7600 (2.33GHz 4MB L2 cache 667MHz FSB)
Memory: 2.0GB, 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM Memory
Video Card: NVIDIA® Quadro® FX 2500M with 512MB dedicated Graphics Memory

Thanks Guys,

I'm going for CS3!

I'm also going to give Bibble Pro a shot too, just to see if Lightroom is the Spawn of Satan!
