Corn Buntings & Yellowhammer
A local farmer has dumped a load of seed and a large flock of Corn Butings and Yellowhammers together with a few Brambling and Chaffinch are feeding on it. Although I have provided a range of natural perches they still prefer to sit on the barbed wire fence!

Hi David,

Really very nice indeed. I'm impressed with the composition, must be a one off. No nits from me.

Was this shot from a hide or vehicle?

Regards

Rob

Hi Edwin

The image was taken from my vehicle which I was using as a hide and I got a number of frame fillers on the wire (see above). The Corn Buntings were however a lot more nervous than the other species and when I reversed back they came in, in even greater numbers. These birds had just flown down and are looking back at the seed (probably half a ton of it)

Hi David. This is really special. I am trying to find the superlatives so I will content myself with 'gob-smacking'. I think the really interesting aspect is that you pulled back to get them all in rather than focussing on one which we are much more inclined to do. My hat is off to you sir. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Very different, exctremely eye-catching and an all round top shot.
Bet this would certainly win a few competitions.

Hello Dave

Your shots of the small birds in their environment have been brilliant as I can't think of anyone else who is working in this way so very original.

Great stuff.
