Good morning all,

We're digging out from a record snowfall here. I've been swamped with work (so far 18 days straight without a break), so I'm behind in my MWNP activities. Things should ease up by midweek and I'll get caught up.

I received the following email over the weekend with a request to post it on our forum. Let me know if you think this is an appropriate use of our space.

More soon ...
Chuck

Hi Chuck!

I'm a member of a grass roots organization trying to stop an enormous mega dairy proposed for NW Illinois just a few miles away from pristine Apple River Canyon State Park. We're trying to get everyone that enjoys the outdoors to contact the Governor of Illinois and ask him to stop this project. We've already got the support of a number of environmental groups that protect rivers, fishing, etc., but once the manure spills, and the fish die, there won't be as much left to photograph.

Here is some information about our plight. Can you possibly post a short blurb on your forum, and a link to our web site http://www.StopTheMegaDairy.org, so that your concerned members can take a minute or so to protest this, and help preserve such a beautiful area?

You can also direct people to this web site, which has a lot of talking points and links to the governor.

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up, Chuck. Because this it taking place in the Midwest, I think it's quite appropriate to post the notice in MWNP....as long as this does not result in a heated discussion. I would suggest also posting this message in the General or Hot Topic forum so that more people will see it. Hopefully this will generate enough activity to stop the project!
