Utah Vacation

I'm planning on spending a week in the Moab/Grand Junction area for a week sometime duing mid-July through September. Is there a week in there that would be suggested as the best choice to drive out? My vacation time is very flexible, but my girlfriend who is an RN has a little less flexibility, so I'm hoping to pick a week fairly firm. Thanks for any advice or input.... I'll be spending most of my time in the area of Moab and maybe a day or two at the Colorado National Monument...

I'd suggest later in September unless you like it really hot.

The entire stretch is during the Summer Silly Season, so it will be busy regardless. Later in September might be a bit more appealing temperature-wise.
