I received the following email over the weekend with a request to post it on the MWNP forum. Toni Lankerd suggested I post it on the general discussion forum as well. Thanks for having a look.

Hi Chuck!

I'm a member of a grass roots organization trying to stop an enormous mega dairy proposed for NW Illinois just a few miles away from pristine Apple River Canyon State Park. We're trying to get everyone that enjoys the outdoors to contact the Governor of Illinois and ask him to stop this project. We've already got the support of a number of environmental groups that protect rivers, fishing, etc., but once the manure spills, and the fish die, there won't be as much left to photograph.

Here is some information about our plight. Can you possibly post a short blurb on your forum, and a link to our web site http://www.StopTheMegaDairy.org, so that your concerned members can take a minute or so to protest this, and help preserve such a beautiful area?

You can also direct people to this web site, which has a lot of talking points and links to the governor.

Thanks!

Chuck,
Don't feel bad... there's talk of a casino right in the middle of the Columbia River Gorge at Cascade Locks. Isn't anyone thinking?

We just had a spill here in Walkersville Maryland, Reference people to the Frederick County Government as to the impact such a spill has had, and how much it is costing the county just in providing water to residents. Not too much impact on wildlife there other than the few fish remaining in the creek, it is all housing now. This was hust a small 10,000 gallon spill from a small dairy farm.
