I like your different take on the Fiery Furnace, Dave. Those mini-badlands have always intrigued me. I like the painterly look of the Green River Overlook photo, too. I do wish all of the White Rim had been included, though. That small section cropped off on the left is slightly distracting. Hope you had a nice time here!

The jury is in: Cloudy light at Green River overlook is MUCH better than blue sky. I love that shot, Dave! Absolutely incredible. I love the textures in the first one, too.

Dave your Green River Overlook shot is awesome! I like your unique take on it, and I don't think you could have asked for better light here... the soft colors are very nice.
I tried a whole bunch of comps to exclude the white sky that was totally obscuring the mountains and had to make the choice of leaving some of the White Rim out. This BW conversion was from Grandview looking towards the Abajo Mountains as the clouds were just starting to lift. The snow fingers are just touching the mountains.

Really love the Green River overlook shot - great soft light, no sky, and I love the way the canyon and water really snake their way back into the frame. Nice shot!

Here's one of the Fiery Furnace. I liked the textures and variety of colors.
