After reading Roman's recent post, I had a thought and decided to see you the forum members are interested.
Either a weekly or a monthly sticky thread where everyone can post an image of the current theme. Similar to Marc's Best of 2007 thread. I am not talking about a contest. It's simply a thread where we all post our interpretation of the chosen theme. I'm thinking that his might help us grow and/or maintain our enthusiasm and creativity.
Since the posts will be relies to a thread, it won't count against your 24hr quota.
If there is sufficient interest in this idea, I'll work with Rick and Erik to manage the threads and figure out the logistics for picking the themes. My first instinct is to run it similar to the Weekly Challenge, only without the competition aspect.
What do you guys think?

I think it's a great idea Curtis! Sounds like fun.

That is a great idea! We do something similar on RMNP and it is a fun thing to look forward to every month. You can see our latest here:
Sure. Give it a try. The Weekly Callenge is a lot of fun. This could be as well if the participation is up there.

As an occasional variation, I'd love to see some of the sticky thread show different post-processing of the same photo. In other words, someone could make an original available for download and then those interested could have a go at processing and then post results so we could compare techniques and takes on the same photo. This could be both inspiring and educational.

I like John's idea too. It's kind of like a bunch of photographers all shooting at the same location and seeing what comes from it afterwards. There are always extensive variations from the same place!
Good idea Curtis, Seems like I always look at someones photo and think, I have a shot from there or almost the same subject. Like the rash of Greate Blue Heron photos last week.
An interesting idea! I have an initial subject matter - We all spend a ton o time tryin to post our best so maybe it's time to see the "not quite right" images. And we can all learn via our mistakes? I'll even volunteer to go 1st!! We can talk about what went wrong instead of anxiously hunting for those wonderful pats on the back we all so eagerly seek...

hehehe

Great idea... ...looking forward to seeing how this all jells.
