More Voles
I’m having great fun photographing this group of voles at the moment, this one seems to love eating water hyacinth I believe and is ether very fat or very pregnant I’m really hope it’s the latter. I know the backgrounds a bit cluttered but hey.

D3 600mm 1/200@F/5 ISO 1600 Dull and overcast.

Thanks for looking

A fabulous picture. I agree with Nigel about the background: anything that shows the animals environment and yet still shows the animal itself in a good pose is fine with me.

Hi Colin,
A really nice shot with a great pose and good eye contact.
The background doesn't bother me in the slightest and is part and parcel of the vole's habitat.

Lovely shot, the environment makes it what it is.
I wsh I had a D3, but of course if I had gone with Nikon, Canon would have brought this camera out. You just can't win sometimes.

Very different to most WV shots - I really like this one, especially the way it appears to be sat up to it's waist in the water. Love it!

Excellent portrait and behavioural shot. I'd love to get one actually stripping the reeds as you have here. Great work. Your patience has paid dividends :toast: :toast: :toast: Just re-read the details. That D3 really does look good. I wonder whether you could send me a part of the image at 100% - preferably something with shadow. Cheers! :toast:
