Ronnie and Bill,
I know both of you will enjoy your new "parts" because I know you both work hard and play hard. My father got two new hips and a new knee when he was younger (he is now 90) and he followed up with dilligent exercise ater the rehab center, to make them work well. Best Wishes!

At least they picked a good time of year to be down for awhile. Won't be missing much in most parts of the country. Hope you guys get up and running soon!
Thanks for all the well wishes and support. Just got home today and am getting around real well. I had what is called an anterior approach procedure where no muscles are cut and the entry incision was only about 10 cm (4 inches) long with no external sutures. When still there is ZERO pain and minimal discomfort when moving around. I've been tooling around the neighborhood with my walker already. Unfortunately I live in the wildflower Mecca of the planet here in Texas and things are going to be heating up real soon. The first question I'll be asking my surgeon on Friday is when I can kneel down to get close to my favorite subjects. I do have a great chauffeur so we'll be doing some serious scouting while I'm off the next couple of weeks. Chrissy has told me I do need to renew my back seat driver's license before we go on any road trips. Now I need to go get myself a fix of eye candy on the finest Flora forum on the planet. >=))>

Get well soon guys! Sorry to hear about the set backs.
Ronnie, I've been there with the knee surgeries ... too many times to count. I'll be thinking about you in particular.
Bill, that hip shouldn't keep you down long. I'll be looking forward to seeing new spring flora shots from you soon!
Hi Everyone,
Thanks for all the best wishes and encouragement.
On February 19 I slipped in my backyard and completely detached my Quadriceps tendon from the kneecap. Of coarse that left my right leg, below the knee, completely nonfunctional. It took me 20 minutes of scooting on my rear to get back inside to call for help. Two days later I had surgery to reattach the tendon to the kneecap. Today makes 3 weeks post-op. Pain has been minimal but for the most part I can't use my right leg. My life on crutches is from the recliner, to the bathroom and short periods on the computer. I return to the Doctor next Tueday, 2nd post-op checkup. I'm hoping to be better for bug season that starts around May.
Again, thanks for all your concerns.
Congrats Bill-sounds like you're doing super well-hopefully you won't miss too much of the "eyecandy" !
I feel for you Ronnie; I was on crutches for a month last year-what a pain in the rear! I completely understand the recliner to bathroom to computer thing and then you'd be too worn out to make it down the hallway to the bedroom! Crutches are definitly not made for anyone over 20
Heal quickly,
Lisa

Bill, glad to hear you are mending well. Can't let the flower bloom get too far ahead of you! Be careful, though, and listen to your doctor… It's easy to push just enough too far when the flower bug bites!
Ronnie, gees, that sounds like a tough go. I can relate to the crutches frustration; they are instruments of torture. Hope things get going better for you real soon!

I spoke to Ronnie last Saturday and he'll be out of action for a few more weeks. Hopefully he'll be back in gear for macro season.
