Winter Wonderland (Ouray)
I finally got a batch of film developed... here's a couple shots from Ouray in February during all those big dumps.

These are each from different mornings, different storms.

I had to work on these quite a bit in PS to restore the white-ness... the film rendered the snow too blue. (Imagine that!)

What do you think? Any suggestions? Which do you prefer? :wavey:

I like #1, the pastel hues make the shot, but theyre both nice.

My votes for #1. This would make a great Colorado Christmas card. The snow is so pristine.
You should contact the Chamber of Commerce.

The first shot has my vote, and I agree that the Ouray CoC might be interested in the shot.

I agree with the others - #1. Very nice pastels and quaint scene.

I'm not voting, because I like 'em both. Purdy indeed.

Both are awesome, Jack. Love that little town!

Both nice, but I'll vote with the consensus for #1 -- what a fantastically purdy shot!

Look at all that snow! You've got a pair of beautiful shots of a beautiful town.

I like #1 a bit better, but both are good shots.

Hi Jack,
Nice shots. I really prefer the first one, esp the way the road rockets my eye through the frame to the peak behind.

Looks COOOLD!

Beautiful winter scenics, looks like a Holiday Greeting card.

Very nice shots. I prefer the first for both its comp and lighting. That said, the second one is nothing to sneeze at either. Well done.

I like that first one, Jack. Cool town and cooler shot. Those pastels in the distance are sweet.

#1 is killer, but I like 'em both. I agree about showing these the the COC.

Dear Jack,
I think that both images are outstanding. However, I must admit that my first impression favored #2. I love the horizontal brown lines in the mountain and how they complement the browns of the homes. I also like the C curve of the road and the road's angle through town. I also like the horizontal tree line at the base of the mountain and the geometry of the mountain peaks themselves. They both would be outstanding holiday cards.
Hope this helps.
Peacemaker

Great job recovering the whites - looks very natural. Easy choice for me - #1 makes me envious that you live there. It's an incredibly idyllic scene with a great cold-but-cozy feel.
