After seeing everyones awesome images, I talked my wife into exploring the Westcliffe area this weekend. We've never been there before and was wondering if you guys (&gals) could recommend some nice lodging. We plan on driving down Friday and back on Sunday.

TIA,
Bert

I don't know anyplace in the area. But what you can expect to see are bed and breakfasts.

I've always found the accommodations at the Frontier to be exceptional, and dirt cheap.

If you like pub food, do check out Poag Mahones on Main street--best burgers, quesadillas, and wings in the state, IMO. And Guinness to boot! Its the main reason i go to Westcliffe--certainly aint for the photos

Everyone, thanks for the quick replies. I knew I could count on the friendly and knowledgeable folks here in the forum. Has anyone stayed at the Courtyard Inn?

Derek ~ Appreciate the map. I went thru that thing a couple of time last night, but no real decision.

Todd ~ Where is the Frontier? Is it a Hotel / B&B?

Stan ~ I'm always up for wings. I'll let you know my vote next week.

Thanks again!

Bert, everytime I've gone down that way, I've been camping. However, look through this thread from 14ers.com. Basically asks the same question. Good luck, and can't wait to see some pictures!

Todd--Ive been known to spend nights at the Cherokee and never had any major complaints, other than a slightly stiff back

Yeah most of the Hotels and Inns are closed down and for sale.

Haha! I would gladly stay at the 4runnner, but don't think my wife is going to buy it.

Yeah, I wanted to stay at the Pathfinder, but my wife finds the accomodations to ah... woodsy. Will likely be down there myself tomorrow.
