Thought I would share a image from antelope canyon. It is a hdr image. It is not my favorite composition that I have from the canyon but I kinda liked the detail.
Any comments apprectiated.
Gale, if this isn't your favorite composition then I can't wait to see which one is. This one is very nice. Do you use Photoshop's HDR feature?

Gale, this is a different take on the much photographed Antelope Canyon. I like this a lot as you've done a good job to minimize intersecting lines and it's upper section is visually challenging when trying to determine which element of erosion is in front of the other. Very nice ... and by all means bring on the one's you like!
Thanks everyone, for the nice comments. Bill I might try toning it down but the range of the here is pretty extreme and it isn't blown out.
Here are a couple other images from Antelope these are from my blog and were taken a couple years ago I believe. The resolution isn't near what this image is.
Gale, this is outstanding. Quite amazing how the HDR changes an Antelope canyon shot. I don't think I've seen much from there that shows the detail in this post. Well executed and processed.

A well chosen composition and a beautiful job of capturing the detail and hues of the extraordinary rock here. Did you take this shot pointing straight up? I ask because all the pictures I've ever seen of Antelope Canyon are of a very narrow and deep vertical crevice rather than a horizontal one.
Thanks Randy, yes this image is pointing straight up, my head is against the rock on the top of the frame. In the winter the light is softer. I believe this spot sometimes get a tumbleweed stuck in the top and makes a dramatic silhouette image.
Your exposure is really great and I light the composition. Did you do this with multiple exposures? If not, how did you keep things from blowing out?
I have seen this same spot photographed a lot. Most of the time it is upside down from your view. I think this is looking almost straight up, isn't it?
An interesting composition I have seen was done by Rodney Lough Jr. (I went to his gallery in Mall of America over the weekend looking for some gallery ideas.)
Here is the link if you want to check it out.
Just for fun, here is one I took in the lower slots in October of last year.

Extremely nice image Gale, it creates its own textured look and feel. The composition and layout of the line formations I find very nice to view. It has a very good flowing feel to it. I can see detail from the darkest to the lightest areas of the image. Very accomplished job.
Thanks Ed Your image is beautiful aslo. Yes it is several different exposures. I also meant to answer John's question. It's and HDR done in photomatrix. The shot is really how I am looking at it if you flip it upside down they call it monument valley with the one rock as the butte. That's cool you went to Rodney Lough's gallery. I had never heard of him and last fall when I was in Colorado shooting some aspens this guy comes hiking out of the woods with a big 8x10 camera. He was very nice and we talked quite awhile, finally I ask him who he was and he told me he had 4 galleries, etc. He has some nice stuff. You never know who you might meet out in the backcountry...
