Recently I have had a few inquiries regarding prints from certain images of mine seen on the Wenatchee Outdoors website (http://www.justgetout.net/wenatchee/).
What do you charge for your images, with or without matting?
Do you simply add a percentage of your costs of printing and/or matting?
How many of you do your own matting and framing? I'm thinking of purchasing a matte jig. I already have woodworking tools so I would probably construct my own frames.
I will pull some figures off my price list sheet when I get home.
If your looking for a good framer for a reasonable price (a precious comodity in the framing world) check out West Coast Frames (in the Portland area if you are as well)......he beats everyone elses prices by a long shot...and has been around for quite some time. Greg is a pretty nice guy and easy to work with.
Just understand with his prices he is pretty busy so give some solid leaway time when promising things to your cusotmer. :~)

Check out the prices on my website. I have prices for print only, print and mat, and print, mat, glass and frame.
I do my own matting and buy my metal frames from AmericanFrame.com. I get my wood frames from someone here in Hood River and charge $100 more.
To figure out my prices, I looked at my costs, imagined myself as a buyer and imagined what would be an appropriate price. I do end up selling a fair amount of work so people must like my stuff and be fine with my prices.

Sizes: 8 x10, 11 x 14, 16 x 20. I don't know if I would go much larger at this point.
Mark: How do I get to your website?

Click the WWW in one of my posts or go here http://www.markhudonphotography.com then go to the bottom of the first gallery page for prices link.

Marc, just depends how complex you want to make your options. I give just a handful of price samples on my site and work with each client to decide on the final piece based on what I will allow size wise and what they want. Since I now work with a custom framer and offer many different frames for clients that want to come by the studio and pick one, otherwise I just go with black metal or black wood and white or black matte to keep it simple . If you can find a custom framer that won't charge an arm and a leg that is worth it's weight in gold! I don't have time for that part so I have mine take care of it for me and she does a great job with fair turn around times. I may make a less than say Mark doing it himself but it's a trade off between time and money, and right now it's time I value more.
Also, one suggestion might be to offer canvas. This is something I started doing which makes for a nice fine art piece with a frame around it, or wrapped gallery wrap canvas without frame. Pricing for this is similar or a little more than a reg print matted and framed.
