Brent's great shots got me thinking about Dream Lake, so I thought I'd play around in B&W with some from earlier in the year. I decided to try out some of the new filters in CS3, this one is supposed to be simulating a red filter. I kinda like it, I was trying to get something with a really strong contrast -- might be too much? Is anyone bothered by the foreground?
Suggestions welcome....

Paul - I like the composition and I think it benefits from the high contrast, but overall the exposure is a bit dark. If you brighten the gamma (midpoint) of the tone range and open up the shadows a bit the image will have more punch.
I think the foreground is the most interesting part of the photo.
I might burn the right side of the largest rock at frame right a little to hold the eye in the frame, but overall I think it's a cool comp and a good application for BW.
I like this too Paul. I agree with Nat's comments. I also like the three tree shadows in the center of the frame. It's a little tight at the top for me. I would like to have just a tiny bit more headroom for the peak. I really like this in BW.
To be honest, i cant see Dream being a good candidate for B&W, except maybe for overcast conditions, really dramatic lighting or overcast/foggy with lots of snow. I very infrequently dream in anything but color
