For members with 12MP cameras and higher. When you guys receive a request from a publication for a high res image, do you send the native size (i.e. 9.77MB ( 4368 x 2912 )for the 5D? Or, do you down res somewhat, say to 5.22MB (3072 x 2048) for example?

Thanks!

I just ask what size, which will vary by publication. Generally, it's in the range of 8x12" @ 300dpi, 8 bit. I've never had a request by pixels, other than jpegs for initial submission/review.

I've had quite a few photographs published by a regional magazine, including cover photos. Dave S. hit the nail on the head. They have always wanted 300 DPI (at the size it will be reproduced at).

A lot of times, they'll want it in TIFF format as well.
