I am looking at purchasing some ND filters to use with my 5D and 17-40L lens. I understand there will be some vignetting with the Cokin P holder and P size filters. How severe is it? Will this setup work if I zoom in to ~24mm? I could live with that. My other option is to go with 4x6 filters and the Cokin X pro holder but that gets a lot more expensive. I see there is a Cokin P wide angle holder available but it only holds one filter. Thanks for any help.

Doug, I handhold a 4x6 GND on my 5D and I'm happy with that arrangement. It does get a little tedious in a long session.
You will get serious vignetting with a Cokin p-holder - even the wide-holder will vignette at wider settings. Most people using a 17-40 hand-hold the grads over a thin-mount polarizer. Darwin

I went with the 4x6 filters and the X holder and have been happy with the results.
