Kestrel with breakfast
40D, 400/2.8 + 1.4, beanbag on roof of car.
ISO400, 1/125 @ f8, Manual mode, incident metered.
C1 v4 + CS3 resize and sharpen, full frame.

Hi,

Returned to the local Hare sight but they were unwilling to play this morning... as I drove along I had the perfect boxing match going on in front of me, no way could I position the car to photograph it...

Fortunately one of he local Kestrels decided to eat breakfast right by where I stopped to watch for Hares.....

All the best

Phil :wavey:

Excellent shot. The pose is superb, as is the timing of the shot.

And it must have taken some time to get that studio backdrop pinned up in the background!!

Hi Phil,

Very very nice. Kestrel's benefitted as much as Barn Owl's with last years good numbers of Short tailed Vole's, looks like she is still finding them OK too.

Nice work

Regards

Rob

Spectacular shot - I'm very envious! Despite a few attempts, I still don't have a decent shot of one of these.
