Dream Lake Ice Waves
I hiked up to Dream Lake today to catch the sunrise and to photograph the ice. As usual, the weather was cold and very windy. Most of the lake was covered with snow but there were several areas where the ice was clear. The picture was taken just after sunrise.

This is a great image. One of the better ice images I've viewed. The design is fantastic.

Great shot Fred. I love how "fluid" the frozen waves appear and the snow in between is a perfect touch.

That is way cool. The way the light plays off the ice really makes the shot.

Dear Fred,

This is a wonderful image and Dream Lake is a favorite place of mine. I have an image of Dream Lake on my website and blog - taken early morning after 3 days of rain and just before another storm. It is - well - dreamy. Thanks for sharing this great image.

This is very unique and beautiful. The only suggestion from me is to warm up the photo, as it looks too blue, at least on my screen. Thanks for posting.

Very cool shot, Fred. I agree with Momo that it feels cooler than I'd expect, but I actually like that effect given the subject.

Seems like this is a popular area, lately.

Great shot Fred. The ice patterns are really nice, especially with the sweet light you captured.
