Self confessed rubbish landscape photographer.

Well Paul, I'm no landscape photographer either but my humble opinion for what its worth is..... I think the viewpoint is fine, the shutter speed used to control the water is good but the big downfall to me is you just didn't have the light. I reckon if you went back and took the same shot on a 'good' day with some dramatic lighting it would be fine.

I would agree with Robert, although I'm no landscape photographer either. The composition works for me but the light is not ideal.

I would agree with the above Light is your missing ingredient.

Yes I agree with the comments.
I have no idea about landscapes, but I can well imagine the variety of shots obtainable just based on light changes alone on this scene. :toast:

A pleasant landscape in need of a little tlc in photoshop to give it some impact.

I think the composition works well. I like the richer colours of the re-post.

Agree with other posts - nice composition that just needed a bit more punch in terms of colour and contrast. Paul Ashton's post shows the potential.

Cheers

Yes, nice shot with the right light or TLC!

Agree with the comments so far.. as an image it works kind of.. the original lacks contrast, it looks like you have done some to the sky but it looks to me as if it needs to look a lot more ominous and moody.

Remember I can't take a landscape for love nor money.....

Hello Paul.

Nice to meet you.

Yes this does work the use of the rock in the foreground gives a nice base to the picture. The shutter speed on the water is just right, and I like the mountains with the right amount sky for this image. So the composition is all there. But the image is flat, the repost is better but still lacks mood, With the right processing I think this could be a strong image. :wavey:

Hi Paul,

Nice composition and technically correct! I think you have to work the light with landscapes but Photoshop processing can go along way to making a nice image an excellent one! (Mind you I'm no photoshop expert by any means! but I know a man who is! )

Paul,

I like the composition, the rock in the FG really starts the image off well.

Nice to meet you on Sunday.

How did your goosander shot work out?

Rob

Hi Paul,

The repost is a vast improvement! For me it's punchier! The sky, the greens and the water look much better! Composition was never a problem!
