Namibian Landscape
This is Deadvlei the famous dried lake with dead Acacia trees that have been preserved in the dry desert air. Some are estimated to be 800 years old!!
A very impressive place even if it was just shy of 40'C 1d2n 17-40

Where's the melting clocks? Looks like Dali's landscape, very fascinating. The slight slope concerns me but I guess it is just the way of the land.
Lovely shot.

Hi Craig,

Very interesting landscape! Love your composition and use of the trees in the foreground. The only thing I'd do is either crop or clone out the half tree on the right hand side of the frame! Superb capture though!

Tim has just beaten me to it - very 'The Persistence of Memory' - just without the melting clocks!
I take it with that heat they had actually evaporated totally

Superb thought-provoking image Craig :toast:

Amazing, seems a place in another world, like Mars!

Super shot, and certainly does look unearthly. Agree with my Inglis namesake of trimming the tree on the right edge.

Surreal landscape, I love it Craig - seems like you had a productive trip

Well you definately are not going to get a landscape like that round here.
It kind of looks very moden and arty. :toast:
