Mediterranean Gull + REPOST
Spend a good day in the company of this nice chap. A pretty rare bird in my corner of the world. I got many images in sunshine, but liked these more, because of the overcast light and the quiet BG.

Hi Helge,

I haven't seen one of these in years now! Lovely birds! You made a lovely job of this and held those whites superbly!

Hi,

Great flight image... there does appear to be a colour cast however, also the black head has blocked up, probably down to the compression.

I just tried the curves white point eye dropper on the lightest highlight and the whites cleaned up noticably....

Lovely image. Looks a tiny bit blue on my gear but light is often that colour any way in shade.

I think you are right about the blue cast, I will give it a try with the eye-dropper-tool - thanks a lot! :wavey: The black is probably another thing, I'm not sure I can get details in both whites and blacks at the same time.....

Ok, so now I tried what Phil suggested - I'm impressed - thanks Phil, that was a new tecnique for me!

1) I used the curves white point eye dropper on the lightest highlight, to clean up the whites
2) Shadow/Highligth (only shadow) to get more details in black head/eye

What do you think ?

Never seen one either, must be very difficult with that black and white! I like the re-post.
