Greenfinch + a couple of adjustments
Just one from today.

Nice greenie Paul.
I know positioning of perches can be a pain but the right hand side bit of blossom seems to grab the attention away from the bird especially with it coming straight down the middle and out of the shot. Just my personal opinion.
Cheers
John.

Nice cap Paul and the bird looks good :toast:

Not at all keen on the perch and blossom mix though - agree with John, too distracting imho - sorry mate :frown:

Thanks guys for the input so have had a quick rework to see if it better?

Superb shot of the finch with a great bg. Like the blossom but agree with others that the lower sprig was a bit distracting. Repost definitely improves the sprig of blossom but I'm not sure if I would have hacked away the main twig - looks a bit artificial to me now.

Crikey Paul - clone on matey

For me the problem is the alder branch/twig - if that wasn't there at all the bird would look great - afterall - both its feet are on the blossom and the alder is unnecessary

I have to agree with Andy. You have caught a great piece of action here and the branch lets it down. I don't know if it would be possible, but the thick piece of elder is a real spoiler. I might just be possible to go the whole way and clone out the rest of it just leaving the blossom. It depends on your PoV re image manipulation. Me I'd have a go because it is such a good portrait.

OK guys here it is no alder etc. so what do you think keeper or not? :wavey:

That's better :toast:

Now wouldn't it have been easier to refrain from the 'mix 'n match' in the first place             :wavey:

Magic!

The pose of the finch really accentuates the precariousness of its thin perch - much better without the thicker branch. Although probably better than I'd manage are there some "patchy" bits in the cloning between the two areas of blossom?

That'd do for me, Paul.

Hi Paul,

The repost is amazing! Well worth the extra effort! The eye and the bright OoF twig above the subject does it for me more than the cloned out twig below!
