Hi everyone,
I am looking for some rings primary to increase the close focusing of my telephoto lenses but also to try with my Micro (Marco) lenses.
I have been looking at the Nikon PK-11A, PK-12, Pk-13 and PN-11 but not sure which one or ones to go for so any advice or help is much appreciated. The lenses I’ll be using them on are as follows;
I've got a set of the Kenko's and they work great with AF, the Nikon ones do not support AF.

Hi Paul
I have the Kenkos and they are well built and the ability to maintain AF and full metering is handy sometimes. That saying, however, I also have an elderly Nikon PK13 that I increasingly find myself using. The Kenkos aren't at all bad but the Nikons are that bit better engineered and sit much tighter on the mount. To be honest, for Macro work, I am quite happy to go back to using the aperture ring and centre weighted metering. I have heard it suggested on forums that the Kenko rings are a bit tighter on the Canon mount than on the Nikon - but I have only used Nikon myself so can't comment. Bottom line is that I now use the PK13 or a second hand PN11 with the Nikon 300 f4 as a reasonably light set up for larger insects. For wee stuff I use the Sigma 150 2.8 and (occasionally) a Kenko tube. Nikon extension tubes are rather pricey for what they are but can be picked up for a song on ebay!
Cheers

I can attest that the Kenko tubes work well on the 200-400mm. I have the siggy 150mm as a macro, which I also use them on, but there is no reason why they shouldn't work on the 200mm Micro.

Thats great! I knew the Nikon rings didn't have AF but had no idea the Kenko did! Thanks, I'll be getting myself some shortly!
Paul - lovely image and with all the rings attached too - nice!
Sorry for pinching the thread Paul.
Chris.
I'd say yes! but if I'm wrong hopefully someone will jump in!
