Hi,

I need of a cheeky compact to carry in pocket for snaps of kiddies etc indoors and outdoors. Last time I posted the same question here, I was recommended the Pentax Optio W10 which was very good for the job but the flash has stopped working after 18 months

Rather than mess around with Pentax repairs (who sound horrendous from forums I've seen) can anyone recommend later camera models in the sub £150 range?

Would appreciate any help

Thanks :toast:

Graham, if you want something with a bit of control then I would recommend the canon G9, shoots raw and full manual control with big screen, unfortunately it is double your budget and I would say is more for somebody who does not have a SLR waiting in the wings.

if you want point and shoot, The new olympus mju SW range are virtually indestructable but no real manual options (you can change exposure comp), very handy for walking/holidays where you dont want to be worrying about something else. light and small, and mine has stood up to some pretty hellish conditions in both wet and dusty environments.

Graeme,

I've got a Nikon Coolpix P50 for sale if you're interested. It's only 8 weeks old and practically unused.
E-mail me if you're interested.

THanks guys. Isn't the G9 a bit big to put in the pocket? Depends how big your pockets are I suppose. :toast:

It's roughly 4" x 2.1/2" x 1". A nice compact camera with good control!
