I got sick of Canon and the 1D3 focus problem so I sold all my Canon gear and picked up a couple D300s and a D3 with some Nikon glass.
I drove down to the White River below Beaver Lake Dam to try out the D3.
Instead of dragging around the tripod I just used Auto-ISO with a minimum shutter speed of 1/60. Since it was winter I didn't really expect much in the way of photographs so this was more of a get out of the house event than anything.
Anyway, a few of the images looked pretty good so I decided to print them out. After printing this one at 24x30 I was amazed at how good the image looked and come to find out it is at ISO 1100!
Anyone else have similar experiences with high ISO on the D3?

Hi Ed, yeah I have a D3 and I absolutely love it! I use ISO 800 indoors quite often and it looks just as good as ISO 200, hardly tell the difference. Here is a 30 second exposure at ISO 3200 at night with kids looking through a telescope and waiting in line:

High ISO on the D3 are great! That is a great shots you got there....I can't see any noise at all. Congrats on your purchase of the D3.
