I recently took somewhat of a whirlwind tour of the southwest on the way to visit friends in California. I'll try to post a group or two more photos as I can get to them. On the way back from lower Calf Creek Falls (Utah) these grasses and brush caught my eye.

Yea, Steve needs to start selling the usage rights for grass like Todd does for clouds.
Seriously, Roger this is a nice image. I like the contrast between the whites and reds which creates a wave-like feel. Well done!

Very nice usage of textures and repeating patterns, Roger -- I really like it!
I really like this, Roger. The highlights in the grasses lend some beneficial contrast and structure, and lead me through the scene, while the textures quietly hold it all together.
I was down there last year at this time, and 2/3 of the images I brought back were from that first mile or so along the trail. The grasses, willow, sage... it's a remarkable little section to explore. As much as I enjoyed the gulches and slot canyons, that riparian area was by far my favorite.
