GOOD NEWS--My stock agency sold this image this week. Cool... money coming in.... good!!!!!!!!........ Not so fast.. It is a old barn in the Hale Farm area inside the CVNP shot 2 years ago. It just goes to show that the most amazingly photographic image isn't always the one that sells. This isn't one that you might hang on you're wall is it?
Go figure. Maybe they liked the red & green. All I know is it paid. Good huh?
I remember when I shot this. I was actually shooting some wild flowers and said to myself, maybe I should shot some portions of the barn "just in case"..... well... just in case paid off.
BAD NEWS.... is that about 3 -4 years ago this image would have paid about 3-400.00. it now will bring about 100-150.00. Such is the way of nature photography stock.
I know of some folks that would have sold this for $1.00
Just keep loving what we do and not get caught up in the the small stuff

Congrats, Jack! I can see why the buyer was attracted to this image..it's simple but very colorful.
You'd be surprised what sells! About a year ago, I sold a simple image of the state of Michigan flag through stock..it wasn't even that great! The party that bought the usage rights wanted to use it for a TV ad in Lansing for a month. I had it listed as Rights Managed..good thing I did because that made a huge difference in the selling price!

Congrats, Jack.
You never know what the buyers want. I sold one last month of a man spray washing a house getting it ready to paint. My house! It didn't bring in enough to pay for the paint job, though.
Congrats on the sale Jack. I understand the disappointment with the current state of the stock agency. Sometimes things change in ways that don't necessarily benefit us...what can you do? Keep on keeping on.
