Adder closeup.
Canon 5D, Sigma 180mm Macro, F22, 1/8 -1/3, iso 50, Tripod, Cable release, MLU.

Cropped by about 20% and cloned out a small peace of grass.

Fantastic image. I like the scale pattern sweeping around beneath its head and having the entire frame filled with snake. I'd love to see it with the eyes level as well as I can't make my mind up whether it would look more symmetrical or less dynamic. Great shot.

What did you do? Prefocus and then push the camera in on the end of your tripod...?

Nice comp that works really well - get any with the tongue out (although you'd have struggled with DOF if you had I suspect)?
