Can anyone that lives in this area tell me how it is out there right now, does it get real muddy out there when it rains this hard out there. Are the trees turning green? Any flowers yet?
Right now the buffalo is flooded and many roads into the area are closed due to the flooding. Some wildflowers began to bloom this past week and a few wild plum trees too. Soon we will have other blooming trees like redbuds and serviceberry; the dogwoods will arrive next month. The river is really muddy right now from all the flooding. Once that clears up all should get back to normal with great clear water. The river normally only gets muddy after a really hard rain. The leaves will begin to come out next month and by the end of April everything should be leafing out...
So I am guessing this would be a bad weeked to come out?

I would expect the creeks, or many of them anyway, to be cleared up pretty well (have I left myself enough wiggle room there?) by weekend. Most major roadways I would expect to be passable by then. Many dirt roads will have washouts and mud pits, with possibly some low water bridges still impassable. But if you're prepared to have secondary or tertiary destinations in mind and don't necessarily have your heart set on the Buffalo River itself, high water should be great for most waterfalls. Saturday is forecast to be sunny (not good), but right now the forecast for Sunday is cloudy.
A bad weekend in the buffalo area? Never seen one! So I guess it all depends on what you are looking for - green leaves, no. Wildflowers, some early ones are out. Not sure what you are looking for but any moment spent outside this weekend would be pretty darn nice I bet...
