Forster's Tern
I shot this Forster's Tern (An American Tern) this afternoon flying into a Rainbow less than a mile from my house as the crow flies.

Composition works a treat and the colourful backdrop is a little different from the norm and is very attractive.
Only nit is the quality looks quite low as there appears to be a lot of blotchiness in the background and quite a few artifacts surrounding the bird.
Is it a very large crop?

Sadly a fairly heavy crop. It was more its rarity value. A first for me and my eighth species of tern for this year!!

Always good to see a new bird let alone get a shot of one. I guess with rarities it's a question of making the most of the given oppurtunity

Good spot. Any image of this bird is a result.

The tone of the BG works well with this image, but for me I find the bird is just too small in the frame. Its still a good record shot of something you dont manage to see every day. :toast:
