Looking at fly into Salt lake city and driving down to Moab on April 18, 2008 and leaving on the 23rd. Any suggestions on reasonable spots to stay and does anyone know if there is any conflict with too many other people in the area at that time. Thanks

Jeff,
I like to check Farecast.com before I go anywhere.
You can find good deals on that site.
Here is the result for your stay.:
http://www.farecast.com/hotelSearch.do?datelimit=03%2F21%2F2008&destPortText1=Moab%2C+UT&e=MOAB_UT_US&cim=04%2F18%2F2008&com=04%2F23%2F2008&a=1&r=1
$67 is the least expensive.
Click on the "Map view" to be able to see the location of the Motels.
Have a great trip!

Here's an earlier thread on motels in Moab that may help.
I always stay at the Apache Motel, a small, quiet place well off of main street. That link has a map and user reviews. A single room cost me about $50 (+/-) last time I was there.
It most certainly wasn't $101 like the previous posters' link shows.

Jeffrey: Those dates will be busy but there are no special events in town to inflate the population. You may have some early arrivals for the car show, though. Wildflowers should be blooming and the weather is usually perfect.

Thanks for the help, we've got a place booked, flights are scheduled, now all we need to do is figure out where for sunrise images and where for sunsets. Got to try some star trails, too. :jump:

Jeffrey,

If you need more than a few tips, I'm available to guide you or create a custom itinerary for you. Let me know if you're interested! Regardless, I hope you have a great trip!

Jeff, do yourself the biggest favor of your life: contact Bret Edge.

He's forgotten more than anyone will know about Arches and Canyonlands, although he's too humble to admit it.

If you don't believe me, look at the pics on my site from Moab. They're a la Bret every step of the way.
