Another one for testing: I now have my trusted LaCie hauled back, calibrated it carefully and here is the first pic I have done with it.
I would be very grateful for comments about the rendition as I am struggling at the moment!
Although these lovely little birds were not rare in the Pantanal it was still quite difficult to 'shoot' one doing something interesting.
D2x, 200-400 plus 1/4, 1/1250 F/4 +2/3 because of the very bright bg, Tripod.

Lovely capture of a nice looking subject!
Colour wise the bird looks great on my monitor! The BG & FG is quite bright and could do with turning down a bit! - Harsh light? The whites look great with detail on the subject and don't look blown. So maybe everythings ok just the reflective surface and light bouncing of the ground!
EDIT: Looks good on another monitor I have!
