Sounds cool, but that's a steep price for one day.

By looking at the schedule, a lot of people must think the price is steep since most of the seminars have been canceled of postponed.

I agree about the price - something closer to a $100 would appear more reasonable in what is probably a large lecture room setup. Maybe they'd have fewer events "postponed".

Have any of you attended one of the NG seminars ?
I hope the lunch is REALLY good.

...includes lunch...

Considering how many people they usually pack in to these things, for that price lunch better be filet mignon and lobster.

Actually, the lunches were not bad. The price is really in the ballpark for a top-notch 1-day seminar - although at the high end. The adventure photo seminar is a new one this year. If you consider the instructors are top shooters for NGA and the fact they can give you insights on photographing for the magazine and add on the networking opportunities, the price is a good investment. I attended both the travel photo in Houston and travel writing seminars last year in Santa Fe and thought they were both well done. I also ended up with business cards form a couple key editors and writers.

I wouldn't hesitate in signing up if that's the kind of photography you're interested in. The fact it's local is a real plus.

Regards, Ken

Oh, by the way, one reason the NG is doing these seminars (last three years now) is that they're on the lookout for new talent. Interested now?

lol at the college I went to and how odd, cuz last time I looked, they didn't even offer a program in Photography! Hmm wonder if being Alumni allows me entrance to this....

John, I'm certain they will gladly accept $195 donations from their alumni.

Ken, thanks for the feedback on the NG seminars.
One assumes they would try to maintain high quality standards, but it helps having input from someone who has attended.
