Water Pipit
OK so it's not the greatest shot but it's the best I could manage today.

Hope I've identified correctly.

nice bird and the snow is great, you could maybe brighten it a third though

Well he/she looks fairly fed up,as I would stood out in the snow all day.

Could give a slight tweak to brighten it a tad.

Well its a pipit and its in frozen water, out of curiosity what makes you think it is a water pipit rather than a meadow pipit?

For me it looks like a meadow pipit, with few if any distinguishing features for a water pipit, but I am alway interested to improve my ids of these small brown jobs.

Well I think it's a Water Pipit but I could be wrong. They winter in the South East and certainly are to be found along the Norfolk coast. The Meadow Pipit winters in the Mid South of the country.

I'll post it up on Birdguides and see what happens.

Maybe a tad brighter? Still a nice image of a bird that never sits still!

hard to tell from the image angle, but water pips have a pale/yelow lower bill, I thought this bird looked all dark, but could be wrong. Supercilium eye stripe is also very pale and indistinct, I would have expected a more obvious stripe?

Nice image, Paul. Haven't seen many pipits on here lately.
