Eyes Bigger than Stomach
Saw this this afternoon I watched for quite a while and it tried and tried to swallow it but hadn't succeeded before my wife decided she was too cold and wanted to go home.

very nice, bizarre looking fish

would maybe prefer a little more room on the left

Is that a Perch? I seem to recall the large sail like fin on the back as being a deterrent to being eaten.
Good interesting behaviour shot.

Super shot Craig. I think the fish is a zander. Spiny things to handle and I am sure even more spiny to swallow!!

I think probably a Ballan Wrasse but not entirely sure. Feeding off rocky coast in Irish Sea.

Google images suggests that you may indeed be right!! I'm sure there are some sea fish experts on here somewhere ..

You wonder what goes on with the folk who classify birds - this is classed as a duck yet the blue tit is no longer a Parus

Only nit already covered - nice capture :toast:

Nice image, a bit more space on the left would have been nice but love it as it it.

Superb behavioural. I agree it wants a little more on the left side to swim into.
