Well what a difference a day makes.
Out this morning first thing and snapping away in the snow.
Had a break miday and came home. Snow everywhere.
Couldn't resist a second outing but by about 1.30 it had virtually all gone.
On my way back home came across a regular and managed to get within about 35! of this bird. As daft as it may seem I even said hello. He was not one bit fased and just sat there steading himself against the breeze. He remained in postion for well over 1/2 hour.

Nice one Major !
Being a barn owl the blue sky looks strange.
The reason we have so few is you have them all over there.!

Instead of saying what a difference a day makes I should have said how varied the weather can be in any one day.
This morning sky full of snow after mid-day overcast one minute and bright sunshine the next.
Even taking these owl images I was constantly having to change settings to keep up.
I did say the sun always shines on the righteous here in Norfolk. John.
Hi Major, guess the rule 'keep it simple' paid off Very nice

It's a charmed life you lead down there Major
Cracker of a shot and a nice comp
Perhaps I need to calibrate again, but it looks to have a slight blue/cyan cast to it
Have you not tried a D300 yet guv'nor - see the hot bit to the right of the face - bet that wouldn't happen with a 300

Hi Major what a superb image. I also feel it has a slightly blue cast.

That is very nice Major.
You have successfully stopped me posting my morning Ban Owls pictures from Lancashire!! No snow and no blue skies, just high ISO and overcast. Home sweet home.
Best regards,
Austin

Despite a slight blue cast, a very pleasing image!
